When The World Comes Down by All American Rejects

With 11 tracks, this disc definitely offers up a nice rounding out of music from the Oklahoma born pop rock group, All American Rejects. When it comes to power pop and radio friendly rock, you can’t get much more spot on that AAR because they’ve been offering great vocals, catchy tunes and plenty of energy for several years now. You won’t find too many other groups that offer their level of quality in vocals, so it’s nice to see this disc coming out now when there are pretty slim pickings for those who do like that pop rock kind of sound. There is plenty of harmonizing here, too, as is typical. The album covers the same themes you’ll be used to if you’re familiar with the group, a vaguely emo touch to songs about relationships, break ups and life in suburban America.

Whereas some AAR releases have not always been too much beyond mediocre, When the World Comes Down does offer some better songs such as the hit single Gives You Hell, Damn Girl and of course, Swing Swing. There’s plenty to like on this album with very few annoying songs that you’re going to want to skip through which is certainly something any pop band, or even any band in general, can take pride in. There’s a whole lot of fun here that is going to give you a good time every time you queue up the songs. It’s definitely a strong point not only in this particular style of music, but also in the fact that this album offers so many truly good songs from AAR.
