There is a brand new category being forged in the world of mobile devices today, say mobile industry experts, an evolution of the smart phone that is being called the super phone. According to recent reports, the new phones will far surpass what consumers had come to see as standard in their smart phones, the evolved version of earlier mobile phones that offered users the ability to send SMS messages, browse the web and perform other tasks. Among the most popular of this new wave of highly advanced mobile phones is the HTC Desire which has recently hit the market and already begun to wow critics in grand style. The device hardness the power of a Snapdragon processor engineered by Qualcomm that offers a full blistering 1 Ghz of computing power, as well as a 3Ghz radio which helps it offer low power usage and extremely high performance. With 576 MB of RAM, the small phone packs a big punch with tech enthusiasts who view it as a major upgrade to those models which came before it, both for HTC and other smart phone makers. The Desire runs off the increasingly popular Android OS from Google which means it is able to tap into the full range of Google features such as Google Maps and Gmail seamlessly to allow users a high level of mobile access to services they might otherwise need a laptop for.

Just as the market for many hi tech mobile devices has begun to expand with entrants such as Apple’s iPad, consumers have been given a growing range of options in terms of purchasing both plans and phones. These new super phones can be purchased not only in retail outlets across the UK, but over the web through sites such as Dial a Phone and others which offer deep discount savings. Analysts believe that the retail push behind HTC’s Desire and other similar models of phone will help the super phones gain traction in the market at a far greater pace than would have been possible in the past. If the Desire is any indication of the overall quality of the next generation of mobile phones, the 5 mega pixel camera alone shows that the future looks to be quite impressive.

With the rising popularity of Apple’s resoundingly popular iPhone, other mobile phone manufacturers have decided that they want a piece of the proverbial pie. Each of the big mobile phone makers are working to put their foot forward into an emerging market that is being warmly embraced by consumers around the world. In terms of handheld mobile phones, the touch screen innovation has definitely advanced what users expect out of their mobile devices and this means that despite any stranglehold Apple may appear to have on this sector of the market, its competitors are briskly sweeping in to give the electronics giant a run for its money.

The HTC Hero is one such phone that is offering its customers a 5 megapixel camera on its handset that runs on the Google Android software. Nokia’s latest offering, the N97 sports a stereo FM receiver, 32 gigs of memory and a 3.5” touch screen above a kick out QWERTY keyboard. T-Mobile’s myTouch 3G offers consumers a choice of black or trendy merlot on their offering that comes YouTube ready for users who favor heavy video usage. Samsung’s latest handset, the Galaxy, promises a high end handset experience that has thus far failed to impress reviewers in the press, but a longer battery life may change the minds of those looking to buy one.

With the influx of new touch screen handsets, those seeking mobile phone deals are bound to find retailers increasingly willing to offer improved pricing as the manufacturers go to war over dominance of the market. The touch screen world is sure to get increasingly more competitive as consumers all but abandon traditional phones in favor of these much more feature-rich alternatives.

Mp3 players are a dime a dozen at this point, covering every end of the market. Samsung is one of the leading companies for mobile music, but their products tend to be on the pricey side. What if you are just looking for something cheap to listen to while you workout, clean, or go for a run?

The Samsung U5 is your best option, if you are looking for something simple and functional to listen to. Costing around $40, it is actually pretty good for the price. It sports a 2GB file storage, an FM radio, a voice recorder, and a fitness option.

It’s design is pretty sleek and easy to carry around. It’s small enough to not get int he way during a workout, but not so small that you are likely to lose it. The best part is that it more or less a glorified flashdrive, with a USB-stick sticking out of the end of it. This eliminates the need for cords that everyone seems to lose within the first few weeks of owning a new Mp3 player.

All in all the Samsung U5 is basic, but wonderfully simple. It won;t work well for the advanced Mp3 user who likes a lot of song space, but it’s perfect for anyone who just wants something that plays.
